Now it’s the turn of Prakash Jha’s hit political saga ‘Rajneeti’ to enter into the much coveted place of film learning.
The filmmaker said to have been approached by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for the film’s screenplay, to be preserved for research and study related works.
Over this, the director said to sources that he is quite happy and feels honoured that the Academy requested him for the film’s screenplay. “Though Hindi cinema has its own tradition and form, it is always nice to be recognised internationally,” remarked Jha.
He further went on to say that he and Anjunm Rajabali worked very hard on the screenplay of 'Raajneeti'. Jha revealed that it took them several drafts and many years of work to come to the final screenplay of the film. “It's nice to know that that effort has not gone waste and we have been blessed with commercial as well as critical acclaim,” quoted Jha.
Inspired from Mahabharata, 'Rajneeti' features Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Arjun Rampal, Manoj Bajpayee, Ajay Devgn, Nana Patekar and Naseeruddin Shah in the lead roles.
With this, the movie joins the bandwagon of Indian films like 'Rock On!!', 'Lagaan', 'Devdas', 'Munnabhai M.B.B.S.', 'Kal Ho Naa Ho' and 'Chak De! India' among the few to be in the Academy archive.
